Director, Supplemental Programs

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: To provide leadership, supervision, and coordination of programs and services to supplement core programs and/or support special populations and/or subgroups. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Arizona administrative certification required. Masters in Art or Science Degree (MA or MS) in education required. Administrative experience required. SEI credential is preferred.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Coordinate activities and programs in the best interest of all students, to include all subgroups served via supplemental Federal and State programs. 
• Support site practices to ensure compliance with Federal and State program requirements and serve as the District liaison for staff regarding related programs. 
• Ensure equity for all stakeholders by collaborating to cultivate access to opportunities and resources, promote and support understanding and strategies that can be employed districtwide to ground practices and in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Contribute to the staff development program by developing presentations that help teachers learn new teaching skills. 
• Monitor programs aligned with language acquisition in alignment with state and federal expectations as directed by the State. 
• Assist with the coordination of the Volunteer Program. 
• Assist in developing parenting classes for parents. 
• Keep abreast of current literature and legal requirements concerning Federal and State programs, including attending professional meetings, workshops, and conventions, as appropriate. 
• Establish effective communications with the various offices and agencies within the community that may provide specialized or professional help to students and their parents, and serve as the referral agent to these offices and agencies. 
• Develop and submit applications and reports to Federal and State educational agencies to ensure compliance for funding. 
• Collaborate with other administrators to coordinate and support the design, alignment, implementation, and evaluation of all District curriculum and programs. 
• Prepare financial and program reports as directed. 
• Plan and administer assigned budgets.
• Support the facilitation of extended learning opportunities as directed.
• Facilitate applicable stakeholder involvement to support District goals during the Continuous Improvement Process. 
• Facilitate and support the continuous improvement of district Professional Learning Communities. 
• Facilitate and support community events assigned to the Department. 
• Continue to grow professionally through appropriate staff development opportunities.
• Assist in the supervision of related staff members as directed.  
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

SALARY:  Twelve-month position, administrative salary schedule director level, and employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy on the evaluation of administrative personnel.
